| Roger Kingdon passed away unexpectedly on November 17, 2009 at age sixty, while being treated for liver cancer. He lived life passionately and optimistically, taking pride in everything he did. An antiques dealer for thirty five years, Roger took part in Twin Bridges first show at Capitola Mall in 1982. Over the years, he became well known for expert restoration of American furniture and furnishings, including lighting. After marrying and moving to Walnut Creek, Roger chose to work from home so he could spend more time with his family. He coached his sons' soccer and baseball teams, was an enthusiastic outdoorsman, and never tired of discovering new beaches, rivers and towns on family vacations. After decades as an antiques dealer, in recent times, Roger became the promoter of the W.C.H.S. Shadelands Ranch Museum Antiques and Collectibles Show. His years of experience prepared him well for this project. He also worked with staff and residents of Merrill Gardens Retirement Community in San Ramon. "When Roger took part in our antiques shows in the early days, i.e. 1980's, I remember always being impressed with his success in selling antiques. I used to say, 'Roger could sell ice cubes to an eskimo!!!' He credited his success to years of experience as a shoe salesman. He had the unique ability to engage customers in conversation, educate them about pieces they were interested in, frequently leading to a sale for him to a satisfied customer!", says Carole Berry, Promoter of Twin Bridges Antique Productions. A memorial held in January by Roger's family brought together two hundred friends and relatives, a true testament to the positive influence he had on so many lives.
